Monte Antrim is a designer, illustrator and artist based in Brooklyn.  Born in Indiana sometime in the last century, he studied Architecture, earning a Bachelor’s Degree from Ball State University in 1990 and a Master’s Degree from Princeton in 2001.

In 2003, having worked as an Architectural Designer for twelve years in Seattle and New York City, Monte began working as a freelance illustrator, specializing in Design Visualization, with frequent projects in other types of Illustration for CD/album packaging, apparel, and print.

He has also kept up a steady output of Art in paintings, drawings and prints, and a continuous Sketchbook practice that spans five decades.  Much of his artwork focuses on the built environment and city dwellers of his daily life; he is also a sucker for drawing old cars, the more beat the better.

Whatever the subject matter, Monte’s passion for drawing is central to his illustration technique: his work often features hand-drawn elements which are transformed digitally, allowing for experimentation, flexibility, and wide-ranging visual effects while retaining a clearly human element.  He has brought his unique approach to creative work for a range of clients, including Architects and Interior Designers, ad agencies and conceptual firms, non-profit arts organizations, record labels, and retailers.
